Who are we?
MUD students come from diverse disciplinary and professional backgrounds, and they work in collaborative frameworks to build additional expertise and capacities.
At Taubman College, most of the core courses require students to engage in research strategies, exercise critical thinking, and sharpen a wide range of technical expertise. Design studios start with a collective introductory comparative experience in the region (like the Fall 2019 Chicago Grid), followed by experimental and interdisciplinary proposition studios with M-Arch students. The intense research design tradition in a fast-paced studio culture shapes a competitive work ethic preparing students for real-world practice.
Based on our diverse academic and cultural backgrounds, we aim to enlarge the agency of urban design, creating a more livable tomorrow.
